EBX 24hr film festival

Last week, the East Bay Express held its annual 24-Hour Film Festival. Seven teams were challenged to make a film of up to five and a half minutes in 24 hours. Each team was given a basic scenario, nine props in which to choose six, and a line of dialogue selected at random that could be spoken or visually displayed.

Screenings and judging of the films took place on Earth Day, April 22, at Chabot Space & Science Center. Judges included Peter Sahaidachny from Ex’pression College for Digital Arts; Eric Havel from Chabot Space & Science Center; and Stephen Buel from East Bay Express.

Ex’Radio

I created and manage a 24/7 online streaming student radio station for Ex’pression College. The story reads somewhat like the folktale The Little Red Hen.

Ex’Radio is built on Icecast server software. You can listen through iTunes, WinAmp, or any other media player capable of handling .m3u extensions.

San Francisco Apple Store Showcase

This past Thursday I took a group of about a dozen students from Ex’pression College to the San Francisco Apple Store to present their work and portfolios in the theater. This was actually the third time that I’ve done this, but it was by far the best showing.
